How scoring works

Each round is scored from 0 to 5,000 points based on how close your guess is to the real location.

Round score formula

We use this formula per round:

round_score = round(5000 * e^(-distance_km / 1492.7))

Your final game score is the sum of all round scores.

Perfect guess

5,000 pts

Very close

~4,000+ pts

Same region

~1,500-3,500 pts

Far away

< 1,500 pts

The closer you are, the faster points increase. Small improvements on close guesses matter a lot.

Distance is measured in kilometers using great-circle distance (Haversine formula), which follows the curvature of the Earth.
